Review of Battery Inverter/UPS

The parameters we can review for Battery Inverter/UPS are described here. A battery inverter/UPS device provides backup power during a power outage. It converts DC battery power to AC power, which runs essential appliances and electronics. Battery inverters/UPSs come in a variety of sizes and capacities. So you can choose one that is right for your needs.

1. Pure Sinewave

The power output of a Pure sine wave Battery inverter/UPS by Su-vastika is better than the grid-power quality. Therefore, the efficiency of a pure sine wave inverter/UPS to run the appliances is much higher. It extends power backup, reduces harmonic distortion, saves sensitive appliances from damage, and provides much better performance. https://suvastika.com/pure-sine-wave-ups-inverter-battery-for-homes-and-office-loads/

2. Bi-directional Technology with Isolation transformer

A bi-directional technology is a technology that allows for two-way charging due to its ability of two-way conversion—from AC to DC and from DC to AC. Bi-directional technology uses the same PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) based MOSFET (metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistor) circuit to charge and discharge the Battery in the presence of an electricity supply from the grid. It pulls the AC power from the grid and converts it into DC to charge UPS/inverter batteries. When the power supply from the grid disconnects, It takes DC power from the Battery and transforms it into AC using the same circuit earlier used for charging.https://suvastika.com/using-bi-directional-technology-in-inverter/

As a standard practice, having the right power solutions to power your domestic appliances or perform industrial operations is essential. In this regard, a UPS/inverter with an Isolation transformer is gaining huge popularity due to its ability to provide efficient, high-quality, and safe power solutions under imperfect power situations. However, we can further improve the working of a UPS/inverter system by embedding it with an isolation transformer. Here is why it is essential to have UPS with Isolation Transformer.https://suvastika.com/heavy-duty-ups-igbt-based-10kva-72v/

3. Charger size depending on the battery size

The Battery Size Selection settings parameter is also a unique feature which the user can use to select the battery size while installing the Pure Sinewave UPS. This feature allows the user to choose the smaller Battery in case he requires less backup time or can install a bigger battery in case his requirement is for a longer backup time. In the case of installing the Lithium battery, the same feature can be used to charge the lithium battery with a small or fast charger.https://suvastika.com/hybrid-solar-pcu-solar-monitored-through-the-bluetooth/

4. Lithium battery compatibility

All our Pure Sinewave UPS Battery Inverter/UPS has the settings to use the Lithium battery, which will help the user to choose between a Lithium battery and a Lead acid tubular battery or SMF battery. So the user is not forced to install only a heavy 65 KG Tubular battery. The user can set the setting himself through the mobile application. Another important setting in the Bluetooth UPS is choosing the battery size or, when selecting the Lithium battery, how fast you can charge it; as it’s a known fact that we can charge a Lithium battery in 2 hours, so this setting works for charging the lithium battery slowly or fast by increasing the charging current.https://suvastika.com/hybrid-solar-pcu-solar-monitored-through-the-bluetooth/

5. Switch over time or transfer time

At Su-vastika, when the Power comes back. Our switching time remains 1 to 3 milliseconds as we change the Load at zero crossing. This is the main reason for our low switching time and the durability of our product range. The switching time of a UPS is typically specified in the product documentation. It is essential to choose a UPS with a switching time that is short enough to meet the needs of the connected equipment. https://suvastika.com/switching-time-in-inverter-ups/

6. Technology patent

Technology patents are essential in solar off-grid. Battery Inverter Heavy Duty UPS Lift Inverter Lift UPS Energy Storage System lithium batteries. Because they protect the intellectual property of inventors and companies, it helps export because people don’t want any legal cases against them for installing products which don’t have technology patents.https://suvastika.com/technology-patent-in-india-by-su-vastika-in-pure-sinewave-ups-inverter-battery-inverter-erdess/ This allows them to recoup research and development costs and prevent others from copying their technology. Patents can also help attract investment and boost innovation in these fields.
In India, the importance of technology patents is growing as Govt of India gives a lot of sops and support to increase the practice of filing technology patents. China filed the highest number of technology patents in the world and followed by the USA., which shows the strength of any country in the field of technology. 7. IOT Wi-Fi or Bluetooth-based technology

At a time when wifi-based UPS is innovating the inverter/UPS and home UPS market. Su-vastika’s Wifi-based home solution allows users to control their Su-vastika’s UPS/Inverters with their smartphone. This marks one of the first occurrences since the advent of Pure Sine Wave Technology. They are first bought by Mr Kunwer Sachdevhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kunwer_Sachdev enables users to finally check the status of their UPS using the wifi connectivity on their smartphone. Su-vastika UPS is a significant accomplishment for the sector as it guarantees 100% connectivity with a maximum lag of 2 seconds. This means the Load is immediately switched to the battery mode even if you neglected to turn off some of your appliances or lights.

This will also allow you to remotely turn off the lights and appliances and conserve battery life so you are not met with a dark house because the Battery has run out. The Government of India has granted Su-vastika a patent for “An IoT Based System and Method For Multiple Battery Selection” due to its invention in this industry. https://suvastika.com/iot-software-from-su-vastika-is-set-to-revolutionize-the-inverter-and-home-ups-market/

8. Digital warranty

Su-vastika brings in a Digital warranty for Inverters, a remarkable, revolutionary, and mindful innovation by Su-vastika Systems. Su-vastika’s Digital warranty is available in the inverters/UPS, Online UPS—solar PCU, ERD and ESS etc.

The warranty will start only when Inverter is connected to Battery. And when the Battery is disconnected from Inverter, the warranty stops. This addresses one of the common concerns with traditional warranty models. With this approach, the warranty remains valid as long as the Inverter is actively in use, regardless of the reason for its temporary disconnection. Such as the Inverter or Battery not working or the owner being away on vacation.

Su-vastika Digital warranty provides consumers and dealers/ Distributors complete peace of mind. https://suvastika.com/digital-india-and-digital-warranty-in-inverter-ups-industry-used-per-pay/.  The price of the Battery Inverter is lower than the competitor’s as the warranty starts when the user uses the product and it stops when the user is not using the product.

The Ultimate Guide to Inverter/UPS Lifespan

Here js the ultimate guide to Inverter/UPS lifespan and to check the lifespan of an inverter/UPS, there are two important parameters to decide the life of an Inverter/UPS Auto Overload Restart and Auto Short Circuit Restart feature in Inverter/UPS.

The Auto Overload Restart feature is when the Load is applied to the Inverter/UPS. Then what happens when Inverter/UPS is overloaded, and if the Inverter, after overloading, restarts automatically, then it’s called the Auto overload restart feature. In the same way, if the Inverter/UPS  automatically restarts after the short circuit happens for any reason, this is called the Auto Short Circuit restart feature.

An Inverter/UPS dealer doesn’t know how to check the life of an inverter/UPS as they have no idea of checking an Inverter/UPS life test. Today in this blog, we will make you aware of how to check the long life of an Inverter/UPS. The easy test that any Battery Inverter Dealer can do at his shop without much hassle of testing equipment. In this blog, we have tried to explain the two parameters which decide the lifespan of an Inverter/UPS and how to check these two important parameters Auto Overload and Auto Short Circuit restart feature.

Most companies service the consumer because the MOSFETs of the Inverter/UPS keep getting burnt when the user is using the Inverter/UPS to its full capacity. The user and dealer don’t know why this is happening. In certain brands, taking the AMC contract of an Inverter/UPS is a must, as the failure in the inverter/UPS keeps happening after every six months. In today’s times, most branded Inverters/UPS come with a microcontroller in which the embedded software is written, which controls all the features of the Inverter/UPS, it’s a Digital or Squarewave inverter Or Pure Sinewave Inverter/UPS. https://suvastika.com/how-to-choose-inverter-ups/

In Su-kam, I was the first person in the industry to design the first microcontroller-based Inverter/UPS in 2001 using the microcontroller PIC16F72 of Microchip, USA., which has become an obsolete part. Most designers are from Su-kam, or everyone must copy the Su-kam Inverter designed in 2001. Most industry players use the same microcontroller to make a cost-effective Inverter/UPS in India, as the price is a primary concern while designing the Inverter/UPS. Rather than improving the features in the Inverter/UPS, people are reducing the features necessary to the running life of an inverter/UPS. Without those features, users will be affected badly. As the competition in price is increasing daily, manufacturers are cutting costs by reducing the heat sink size as Aluminium has become very costly and not giving the quality to the user they should have given. It’s not an easy task to design the Inverter/UPS. This embedded software plays a vital role in the functioning and controls of the Inverter/UPS. The transformer is also designed to save cost, and the complaint of transformer burning has increased as the price is the only concern when designing the Inverter/UPS.

Here we will explain the most crucial feature of Auto Overload and Short Circuit Restart features.

Suppose one has to check the life of the Pure Sinewave Inverter/UPS or Squarewave inverter/UPS. In that case, the only review is to short-circuit the Inverter/UPS in the battery mode at least five times when the full Load is running. If the pure Sinewave UPS/Inverter restarts after that, this will be considered as a rugged pure Sinewave Inverter/UPS. One can say that the life of the Inverter/UPS will be at least 20 years, and it will work without fail. This test will prove that the design of the Inverter/UPS is appropriately made. In this condition, the transformer and the complete circuitry of the Inverter/UPS are tested and the simplest way to check the life of any Inverter/UPS.

Another check is the Auto Overload Restart Feature check. How much time can an inverter/UPS withstand the Overload feature? So one has to check at the 125%, 150% and 200% load capacity and note down the timing for the withstanding power of the Inverter/UPS. Whichever inverter/UPS stands for the highest time can be considered the best Inverter/UPSThe critical parameter is the Auto Restart feature after the Overload and Short Circuit. Suppose this feature is missing in the inverter/UPS. In that case, one should never buy that inverter/UPS as this will fail on Overload and short circuit as the manufacturer does not know the importance of the Overload and Short Circuit Restart feature.

Let us imagine a situation in which the kids and older adults are at home, and by mistake, kids switch on the extra Load, and a Power cut is going on, and no adult person is there at home to monitor him. Imagine that the regular inverter/UPS goes off immediately after the Overload. There is no way that kid can reach the Inverter/UPS, and there is complete darkness at home, and the kid will get scared and live all his life in fear of darkness.

Nyctophobia is an extreme fear of the dark. The name comes from the Greek word for night. Children and adults with nyctophobia may fear being alone in the dark. They may have anxiety in dark places, and they may have trouble sleeping in a darkened room, or they are scared of dark spots, and they fear going alone to the toilets or staying alone at home.https://www.healthline.com/health/nyctophobia

Nyctophobia develops mainly when the child is in the age bracket of 2 to 10 years of age, as the darkness creates fear in a child’s mind, which stays all along the life while growing to get old.

Below are the time duration of load handling capability as per Load percentage:-

In the Su-vastika Pure Sinewave UPS model, we have kept the provision that if the Load is 100% to 110%, it will run for 1.5 minutes and take four times auto-retry, which is the real Acid test for any adequately designed inverter/UPS to pass. If the Load is 110% to 125%, it will run for 25 sec. And takes four times auto-retry. If the Load is 125% to 150%, it will run for 15 sec. and handle four times auto-retry. If the Load is 150% to 175%, it will run for six sec. And takes four times to auto-retry. If the Load is 175% to 200%, it will run for 0.8 sec. And takes four times to auto-retry. If the Load is >200%, it will run for 0.48 sec. and handle four times auto-retry. If the Load is 300%, it will shut down with short-circuit protection and take auto-retry twice. This is a major checkpoint for any technical person to check the Inverter/UPS life check.

So we have tried to explain the Auto Overload restart and Auto Short Circuit restart features in this blog.

How to calculate Backup Time in Inverter battery

The battery inverter industry prefers to use 12V battery Inverter/UPS/Solar systems in most developed countries, and here in this article, I have tried to explain with practical results how the 12 Volt system performs under higher loads. It clearly shows the advantages of using smaller loads, but once we use higher loads, the 12V battery inverter system is stressed beyond our expectations.

When I came to the Inverter industry in the year 1999 and started designing and manufacturing Inverters than I gave the 12-volt concept by making mosfet based inverter to the industry before I entered into the inverter field, the manufacturers used to make 24 v systems for the 500Watt inverter. in those days, transistorised inverters were sold, and the battery operated to be the automobile batteries and the inverter market was in very nascent stages. But after 23 years in the field, I realised that the industry had only fallen back upon a 12-volt system. Everyone wants to use the single battery with the inverter UPS because the dealer distributors and the installers feel that having a single storm has fewer problems than using two or more batteries. In the last 20 years, Inverter technology has improved, and the battery industry has also improved as the inverter is more like a UPS now. The companies have increased the battery life by doing continuous RnD as the tubular battery is one technology that has become very stable and the rugged battery of the times. But I feel that education in the field power back up the industry and solar field has been quite restrictive. Now I have been responsible for writing articles and making videos to educate the industry.

12V Inverter with 150Ah Tubular Battery

12V Inverter with 150Ah Tubular Battery

So today, let us talk about the 12 v battery system. How do we check the battery capacity with the inverter or UPS? Here people have made certain formulas and keep giving gyaan to each other on those formulas, which are irrelevant. When I came to the field than my RnD people used to work on Peukert’s Law which had become unrelated in today’s world as that was written in 1897, which was a time when the battery was being evolved.https://vlab.amrita.edu/?sub=77&brch=270&sim=1760&cnt=1.

So now, if we see the battery backup chart, it’s followed what I created in Su-kam 10 years back as making dealers understand the battery backup was tough, so we made a 400 Watt bulb formula which is the industry’s norm today. Everyone talks of 400 Watt load and try to stay with that only.

But the industry moved on to a single battery, and manufacturers kept increasing the Wattage of the inverter/UPS on a single battery. The result is the stress on battery life and the backup time calculations. So in this blog, I’m giving you the measurements we have made on different sets of battery banks and Inverters/UPS available in the market, and one will realise that if the dealer and distributors check the backup time, they will learn the mistake we are doing by selling 12v inverter in high wattages. So every manufacturer under the pressure of dealer and distributors have designed 12volt inverter/UPS in 800/900/1000/1100/1200 Watts. So here I will give you the results of backup time and the battery’s life. Everyone knows that in inverter/UPS and Solar, we use a C20 battery, and few people say that for Solar, we use a C10 battery which will also not stand anywhere when we take the backup time.https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/24160/how-to-calculate-the-time-of-charging-and-discharging-of-battery#:~:text=Typically%2C%20a%20battery%20is%20considered%20%22discharged%22%20when%20it,only%20one%20answer%2C%20t%20%3D%2033Ah%2F10A%20%3D%203.3hr.

Tubular Battery Analyzer

Tubular Battery Analyzer

So we test the backup time on a 150 Ah Tubular battery for different ratings. We have tested these results on three standard manufacturers and will not like to take a name here because the intent is not to take any particular brand. The battery manufacturer should also write on their battery for maximum Load limits as that will help to save battery misuse and life.https://suvastika.com/inverters-with-low-voltage-charging-a-new-standard-for-battery-chargers/

We have taken 200 Watt bulbs and tested the 150 Ah battery on different loads, and you will be astonished to see the results. We tested these batteries with the Pure Sinewave UPS available in the market, and the effects may vary by 2 to 3% if you try them in your showroom before selling them to the customer.

So if we load the 150 Ah battery with 600 Watt bulbs, the current drawn is 50 Amps from the battery, and the backup time we got is 90 minutes or 1.5 hours.

If we run a load of 800-watt bulbs, the current is 64 Amp from the battery, and the backup time we got was 60 minutes to 1 hour.

When we discharge the battery at 1000 Watt load than the result is 40 minutes

When we discharged the battery at the 1200 Watt bulb load, the backup time was a mere 25 minutes.

150Ah 12V battery backup on different loads

150Ah 12V battery backup on different loads

Also, when we started discharging the battery at 1200 Watts for the life cycle, the backup started reducing after 62 cycles. This parameter shows that the battery’s life will be greatly affected when we load the battery with a higher discharge current.

Pure Sinewave UPS with ATC Bluetooth/Wi-Fi Application

Pure Sine wave UPS 2000VA / 24V

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are wireless technologies that monitor inverters/UPS/Home UPS/ Solar Hybrid PCU. They offer several advantages over simple Inverters/UPS.
Ease of installation: Bluetooth and WiFi-enabled inverters can be installed without the need for any special changes as Su-vastika has launched its various models, which have the option of Bluetooth/Wi-Fi converter to be used with normal Inverter/UPS/ Hybrid PCU as they have the USB port at the back to have this compatibility.

In Su-vastika models, we can convert the normal model to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi-based products, and the provision is kept for the same in a few of our models. One such model is Pure Sinewave UPS with ATC.

For the Pure Sinewave UPS with ATC, please go to the app store and download the Smart-UPS Suvastika app from IOS or Android phones.

Remote monitoring: With Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, you can monitor your inverter/UPS from anywhere worldwide, as long as you have an internet connection. This is ideal for homeowners who want to keep an eye on the power situation at home or office and can also be installed for Energy Storage Systems systems while they’re away. The competitive model like this is Growatt make https://growattportable.com/products/growatt-infinity-1300-lifepo4-portable-power-station
Real-time data: Bluetooth and WiFi-enabled inverters can provide real-time data on your Inverter/UPS system performance. This data can be used to optimize your system’s performance and troubleshoot any problems.

Digital warranty can be monitored through Bluetooth and WiFi-based mobile applications or the direct PC, which is loaded with our patented software.
A lot of settable parameters, and it’s two-way communication.
There are many major advantages of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi; let us discuss them in detail.
The monitoring of parameters like Voltage and frequency while the Inverter/UPS is working on the Mains Power. In case of low or high Voltage, one can have the data recorded for the high and low voltages.
If a very low or high voltage occurs, it switches to the battery mode, also seen on the screen with the warning and audio signal.
The charging percentage of the battery can be seen, and it even creates data which can be stored for how much time takes to charge the battery.
The battery charged status one can see.
The power used to charge the battery can be seen on the screen, and the total energy used can be calculated through the system to know how much the power bill has increased for charging the battery, which is impossible in the common Inverter/UPS/ Energy Storage system.
In case of Overload happening on the Mains mode or a short circuit occurs while the Mains power is coming, that also is shown on the screen, and an alert is created for MCB down. All the alerts are kept in memory for future analytics for the service engineer to do analytics about the power usage profile of the customer.
Since this is two-way communication in our Inverter/UPS, we have a lot of settings in the Mains mode, especially in our Pure Sinewave with ATC model Users can select the charging profile according to the size of the battery one can choose smaller to the bigger battery.
Also, the user can select the type of battery, like Tubular SMF or Lithium battery, shown on the Mains screen.
Users can choose the voltage range they want their Inverter/UPS to work. Our Pure Sinewave model with ATC has the feature of selecting Wide UPS and UPS mode, which has the voltage range selection of 90-280V and 180-265 Volts for using different kind of load conditions so that if the user want to run computers and IT loads he can choose the mode 180-26V which keeps the IT load safe and the switching is also high-speed to not to have any break in power outages and the load keep working smoothly. This is UPS mode.
The other mode is Wide UPS mode which a user staying in low voltage areas can use for running the load even if the Voltage is very low, like 90 Volts, so that battery is not used as these areas also have a lot of power cuts.
ATC Automatic Temperature Compensation can be seen on the screen when the temperature changes, which gives the user the advantage of ATC one can see on the net that the temperature increases, the boost voltage decreases, and the temperature reduction will increase the boost voltage, so that user understands that the Boost voltage increase means it will take more time to charge in the winters and will give you proper back up in winters compare to other competitive product range where the backup time reduces in winters as they don’t have ATC called Automatic temperature compensation feature available with them which is a must for Tubular and SMF battery back up time and reduces the water topping in the tubular battery minimum 30%.
When switched on to the battery mode, many parameters of battery mode can be seen.
Like Load percentage, which helps the user know how much more load he can use or reduce the load if it’s above 100%.
Battery voltage gives the user an idea of how much time it can work as it keeps reducing over some time in the battery mode.
Front Switch, which can be used as an on/off switch as well as reset switch
The Overload with the audio warning This feature helps the user to reduce the load as this warning is repeated at least four times where the user gets enough time to reduce the load rather than shutting the UPS in the first warning, which is the case with other competitive products available in the market.
Short ckt warning and Sort Circuit Shut down are essential features that can be controlled through the mobile phone application rather than going near the UPS. This gives the warning along with the audio alert, and the user can reset the UPS by resetting through the mobile application itself.
Low battery warning & Low Battery Shut down is also important feature which can be seen on the mobile app. One can see the battery low happening and can use the battery reserve feature to get more backup time even if the battery low has happened.
The settings’ battery type selection feature allows the user to use this feature to select different types of batteries at the kind of installation of UPS. One can install Tubular, SMF or lithium battery by selecting through the selection button, and the front screen changes the image of the battery so that the user is sure which battery he has used. This automatically adjusts the charging profile of the battery depending on the battery type selection. This is a great feature for users to select a battery according to their budget or choice.

The Battery Size Selection settings parameter is also a unique feature which the user can use to select the battery size while installing the Pure Sinewave UPS. This feature allows the user to choose the smaller battery in case he requires less backup time or can install a bigger battery in case his requirement is for a longer backup time. In the case of installing the Lithium battery, the same feature can be used to charge the lithium battery with a small or fast charger.
Battery Reserve or Low Voltage Disconnect for battery setting is an essential feature in this Pure Sinewave UPS with ATC which helps the user set the Low battery voltage to 4 conditions, reserving the battery capacity accordingly. If the user selects the 10% reserve, then the user can use this much backup in case of emergency. The reserve backup feature also increases the battery life because the user can reduce and increase the battery’s DOD through the mobile application settings.

What’s Battery Inverter?

A battery inverter is a device that converts direct current (DC) power from a battery into alternating current (AC) power. This allows you to use appliances and devices that require AC power, even when no main power is available.https://www.altestore.com/diy-solar-resources/inverter-basics/#:~:text=An%20inverter%20is%20a%20device,in%20off%2Dgrid%20solar%20installations.

Battery inverters are commonly used in homes and businesses as a backup power source during power outages. They can also be used in office lifts, Photocopier treadmills, Air conditioners, RVs, boats, and other off-grid applications.

There are two main types of battery inverters:

  • Modified sine wave or Square wave inverters: These inverters produce AC power that is not as smooth as pure sine wave power. This can cause some appliances and devices to operate less efficiently or not at all.
  • Pure sine wave inverters: These inverters produce AC power identical to the power from the mains. This makes them a good choice for appliances and devices sensitive to power quality.
  • Pure Sinewave UPS with ATC: This is the latest technology introduced by Su-vastika to take care of Lead Acid batteries in case of temperature variations. It also can use a lithium battery. This UPS can be charged at very Low voltage conditions as well.https://suvastika.com/inverters-with-low-voltage-charging-a-new-standard-for-battery-chargers/

When choosing a battery inverter, you should consider the following factors:

  • The size of the battery bank that you will be using and the type of battery one can use, like Lithium and Tubular battery
  • The amount of AC power that you need to charge the battery as it takes higher wattage for charging the bigger battery inverter
  • The type of appliances and devices you will be using, like Air conditioners or small loads like fans and LED lights etc.
  • The environment in which you will be using the inverter, like the temperature around the battery inverter

Battery inverters can be a valuable investment for homes and businesses prone to power outages. They can also be a convenient way to power appliances and devices in off-grid locations.

Here are some of the benefits of using a battery inverter:

  • Backup power during power outages: Battery inverters can provide backup power during power outages, so you can keep your lights on, run your appliances, and charge your devices.
  • Power for off-grid applications: Battery inverters can power appliances and devices in off-grid locations, such as Homes, Offices, Air Conditioners, Photocopiers, treadmills, fridges, washing machine Geysers, Microwave ovens, RVs, boats, cabins.
  • Efficiency: Battery inverters are highly efficient, converting most of the DC power from the battery into AC power.
  • Reliability: Battery inverters can last many years with proper care.
  • Versatility: Battery inverters can be used with various appliances and devices.

A battery inverter is a good option if you want a reliable and efficient way to power your appliances and devices. Nowadays, it has replaced the Pure Sinewave UPS with ATC technology.

What is the solution?

Su-vastika brings in a Digital warranty for Inverters, a remarkable, revolutionary, and mindful innovation by Su-vastika Systems. Su-vastika’s Digital warranty is linked with the microprocessor in the PCB Mains card of the inverters/UPS, Online UPS—solar PCU, ERD and ESS etc.

The warranty shall start only when Inverter is connected to Battery, and when the Battery is disconnected from Inverter, the warranty stops. This addresses one of the common concerns with traditional warranty models. With this approach, the warranty remains valid as long as the Inverter is actively in use, regardless of the reason for its temporary disconnection, such as the Inverter or Battery not working or the owner being away on vacation.

Su-vastika Digital warranty provides consumers and dealers/ Distributors complete peace of mind.

This is even more beneficial in projects where site readiness takes time and inverter installation is delayed. Don’t worry; your warranty won’t be lapsed due to project delays, ensuring that customers receive the complete coverage they are entitled to.

By linking the warranty with the microprocessor in the PCB card of the inverters, Su-vastika has found a unique way to ensure warranty coverage that aligns with the actual usage of the Inverter.

How to access a Digital warranty?

The warranty can be easily accessed by connecting your Inverter through Su-vastika Bluetooth/ Wi-Fi app or via a data transfer wire to your computer.

This means that it is not a physical document that you need to keep track of but rather a record of your warranty that is stored in the device itself and can be seen through the mobile app or through the computer having the software to check the same, as all Su-vastika products come with the USB port, which can be used for checking the warranty.

Digital warranties can be activated by the manufacturer or retailer when the device is first purchased. Once activated, the warranty information will be linked to the device’s serial number.

In case the Inverter PCB card with a digital warranty fails or requires repairs within the warranty period, the warranty coverage can still be claimed after the necessary fixes. This can save time and hassle for both the consumer and the manufacturer.

Su-vastika Inverter/UPS having 50/60Hz Automatic Frequency switching technology.

An inverter, along with the charger, is a device that converts direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC). Also, the Charger part charges the battery from the primary Source or main Power having 50 or 60 Hz Frequency. The frequency of AC power varies depending on the country or region. For example, the frequency in North America is 60Hz, while Europe’s is 50Hz.

There are three significant Voltages and Frequency standards being followed in the world 220V/50Hz, 220/60Hz, and 110/60Hz.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utility_frequency

So most companies design separate solar Inverters/UPS/solar PCU and Home UPS or Energy Storage Systems/Lift inverters etc., on either 220/50Hz or 220V/60Hz, or 110/60Hz as they have different frequencies in those countries.

A 50/60Hz compatible inverter can operate on 50Hz- and 60Hz power sources, so the Solar Inverter or smart UPS will select the Input Frequency automatically when it detects the Frequency when the Mains power is installed. So these smart UPS will not be switched on unless it detects the Mains/Grid Power. The moment it detects 50 Hz, it will switch the battery mode to 50 Hz automatically, and the moment it detects 60 Hz, it will automatically give 60 Hz as the output on the battery mode.

There are two types of 50/60Hz compatible inverters.

We at Su-vastika have universal compatibility as far as 50 or 60 Hz frequency is concerned. Please check our models, where these products work on both frequencies automatically. When they sense the frequency in the mains mode, they bypass the same frequency, and when the Power goes automatically, they begin providing Power on the same frequency.

This feature is critical as it helps us send the same model to a few countries with the Power of 220/60 Hz or the nations with an emphasis of 220V/50 hz. The product is standard and can be installed in any country.

So for example

Brazil has two standards, 120/220 and 60 Hz,

Belize 110/220V 60Hz

Cuba 110/220 60Hz

Dominican Republic 120/208 60Hz

South Korea 220V 60hz

Peru 220v 60hz

Philippines 220V 60Hz

Saudi Arabia 230v 60Hz

Tahiti 220v 60hz

Saint kitts and Nevis 230v 60 Hz

Trinidad and Tobago 115/ 230V 60Hz

So if we see the voltages and frequencies, they use 110 and 220 Voltages, and the frequency is 60 Hz. So there are a lot of countries in the world who are using both the voltages and frequency is 60 Hz so the same product of ours can be used and they don’t need to make any changes as the majority in the world is using 220V/50 Hz.

We have a mobile app where one can see the frequency change automatically happening in case of frequency standard changing.

What is Lift UPS and how it’s different from the Emergency Rescue Device?

A lift UPS, or elevator UPS, is an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) specifically designed to provide backup power to elevators. Elevators are typically powered by three-phase electricity, and a lift UPS will usually have three-phase input and three-phase output. The UPS will take the incoming power from the grid and store it in batteries. In the event of a power outage, the UPS will switch to battery power and continue to provide power to the elevator.

Lift UPSs are typically used in commercial and high-rise buildings where a power outage could cause significant disruption to operations. They can also be used in residential buildings where people with disabilities use elevators.

The Lift UPS and Emergency Rescue devices have similar useability as both provide backup to lifts and elevators with an interruptible power supply without any jerk or switching time.

In the ERD, there is an additional provision of Display in the lift car which gives display status and audio warnings in case the Lift shifts to back up or on low battery status while working on the battery.

Another significant change is that ERD can also work on the Lithium battery bank, making it a pretty compact unit.

Lithium battery bank for the ERD/lift UPS

The ERD can replace generators entirely as it can give up to two days of backup by installing a more extensive battery bank, as it has a bigger charger than the Lift UPS.

Another significant differentiation is that ERD has a remote monitoring feature which can be monitored through the Wi-Fi and GSM-based systems on the mobile phone app or the computer.

Another significant differentiation is that in case of fire in the Building, the ERD can be communicated with the Building Management System to stop the functioning of the Lift.

As fire can result in loss of life for the people travelling in the Lift.

One more important parameter is ERD can be configured to detect the Earth Quake and can stop functioning to save the lives of people residing in multi-storied buildings.

Nowadays, many lift accidents are happening, which has caused a lift phobia among people living in high-rise buildings.

Here are some of the advantages of using an ERD:

  • Provides uninterrupted power to elevators during power outages and has the Display installed in the lift car
  • Has the remote monitoring through the Wi-Fi and GSM-based system
  • Can stop during the fire in the Building or during the Earth Quake
  • can replace diesel generators by having a backup time of up to 2 days
  • The lead Acid battery bank can be replaced with the Lithium battery bank

Here are some of the disadvantages of using an ERD over the lift UPS:

  • In case of fire and Earth Quake, there is no communication with the Building
  • It cant handle low battery issues as there is no provision for a display
  • Management System to Stop the Lift or Elevator.
  • May not be able to provide backup power for extended periods

A lift UPS or an ERD is a valuable investment for any building that relies on elevators. They can help ensure elevators’ safety and reliability, even during power outages.

It also can be a great safety feature in case of fire and Earth Quake in the Building.

Here are some additional details about lift UPSs:

  • They typically have a battery backup time of 2-3 hours, but this can vary depending on the size of the UPS and the load it is powering.
  • Lift UPSs/ERD only switch to battery power when the main power supply fails.
  • They are typically installed in the elevator machine room.
  • They require regular maintenance, such as battery replacement and testing.

If you are considering installing a lift backup system, it is essential to consult with a qualified electrician to determine the correct size and type of UPS for your needs.
