The Times of India article titled “Power outages continue to trouble Hinjewadi tech park residents in Pune,” published on April 1, 2025, reports on recent power disruptions affecting Hinjewadi and nearby areas.On March 28, a man-made fire beneath a transmission line tower damaged the Pirangut-Talegaon 220 KV transmission line, operated by Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (MSETCL), disrupting electricity supply to phase 1 of Hinjewadi.This incident impacted approximately 66,000 residents in Wakad, Maan, Marunji, and Kasarsai for almost an hour.The following day, an underground transmission line was damaged, causing a significant electricity deficit of 100 MW and affecting power supply to phase 2, as well as Maan and Marunji areas.The cause of this damage remains unknown.Residents expressed frustration over these outages, highlighting the challenges posed by prolonged power cuts, especially for those working from home without backup power solutions.
